Long day, fun day! Started off with a trip to the Ramona Grasslands but hit Rangeland Road first. Got to watch the sunrise and a pair of coyotes try unsuccessfully to stalk a calf. Mama cow was having none of that though and the coyotes slunk off once the sun rose. Saw the Bald Eagle nest(s) and then about a thousand Canada Geese took off and dispersed to other ponds in the area. A quartet of Mountain Bluebirds unintentionally modeled for me before I headed over to the Ramona Grasslands park. Apparently Gargantua scares horses, which I found amusing, but I did meet some new people and also spoke with some of the ranchers in the area. After that I headed for Ramona and some lunch before venturing to Lake Henshaw and then to Palomar. The original plan was sunset from Boucher Point but they had the gate to that section closed so I went for plan B. Sunset was nice but the clouds that seemed like they were going to be perfectly placed dissipated in the last hour. So I wrapped up with some moon shots and then long exposures of lake Henshaw. Lots of falling stars tonight.
