Belted Kingfisher in hover mode looking for a tasty evening fish snack.
Brown Pelican on takeoff. Amazing how much force one push with the wings can generate.
A pair of Black Necked Stilts flying across the slough.
The resident Belted Kingfisher decided to hover nearby just as the sun was about to set.
Another classic, a '41 Ford parked outside the Malt Shop. I try to always ask the owners before taking shots and all the hot rod guys pointed me over to an older gentleman whose wife then told me it wasn't his but hers.
Pretty sweet Merc parked out front. Of course the parking lot lights are good only if you want a sepia image :/
Hard not to be impressed by the flying antics of the Black Phoebe, and the results. This one flew about a foot from me, close enough to really hear the 'snap' as the beak closed down on another flying insect.
